The Music Box is located in Ceredo, WV, a small town just west
of Huntington, WV. (Home of Marshall University) Our primary
focus is on bluegrass, country, and gospel genres. We have
been in business since 1992. We have built our reputation
on quality customer service with the emphasis on serving our
customers. We try to meet our customers needs and requirements
for the instrument they are looking for instead of just trying
to make a sale. The Music Box is a family owned and operated business. Orval Williamson is
the founder and the creative source behind The Music Box and
Shiloh® Banjos. Orval builds the banjos and runs the shop,
plus giving personal attention to customers.
Linda, his wife, keeps the books in order and working on
the web site and fills in wherever she can.
Paul Williamson, (the son) keeps the day to day activities going on the retail
side of the business as the manager of The Music Box. He also gives lessons
for beginning and advanced guitar with primary focus on bluegrass or country
music. He also actively participates in the building of the Shiloh®
Banjos.
Next we have our banjo instructor, Tom Meadows, who has become like family.
Tom has many years teaching experience as well as playing experience. Tom has
become an important part of The Music Box.
Our other instructor is Aaron Defoe. He is a college student and teaches electric
guitar and basic acoustic guitar and has been with us for a little over a year.
Our most current employee is Phil Blankenship. He helps with the books and
the web site and other duties as requested. He is a college student at Marshall
University, majoring in Computer Science.
